Differing opinions

Can I make a suggestion? This whole thing with people criticizing the Roloffs is ridiculus, I'll be the first to admit it, but I feel as long as they express their opinions articulately and maturely, they shouldn't be attacked as "trolls" as they so often are.

I'm guilty of this too, but I think allowing people to post a fair negative opinion of the Roloffs here, provided it's worded politely and backed up with evidence and open to opposing opinions presented in the same way. It makes it a discussion instead of a bash-fest like what can happen at TLC or the opposite. It could be the first step in ending all this childish crap with TLC.

I guess what I'm saying mostly is to stop allowing the automatic "troll" accusations as soon as someone posts something negative. Instead, encourage asking sincerely for evidence of the opinion and provide evidence to counter it. I'm not saying you should allow the all-out bashing posts from people just looking for a fight, but there is a difference between disagreeing and wanting to cause trouble. I don't think everyone who says something negative is actually trying to do that. All of the strong defence of the Roloffs here and the strong criticism of them at TLC just intensifies everything. Let it go, ask people why they feel the way they do, and carry on.

So, just something to think about, I guess. It may sound weird coming from me. I've just seen boards with strong differing opinions get on so much better than they do here, that's all.

Give it a whirl and if you do it exactly as you state in you post I betcha there will be no problem. It will be discussed with respect. Only other advice I'd have to offer is leave out the word 'Idiot' and 'moron' from said posts because that often leads to some nasty confrontations. Sort of like if you said it directly to someones face.

Your 100% correct.... Watch out though anyone who messes with them gets Banned...... I suggest putting them all on ignore thats what I did .... Now I don't have to see their stupid posts.....
