Amy - you were great! I wish i could have been there myself to see/hear you speak, but i could tell that the audience enjoyed having you and hearing what you had to say about your life experiences.
Well done :)

Amy,
I too wish that I could of heard your entire speech that you maid to your college in Michigan. It was very encouraging and inspirational. I hope that one day you will have it on tape or this website so that everyone can hear the whole speech. Best wishes.

I hope too that we can get a copy on tape or DVD sometime. Is it possible that eventually it will be available for purchase from your website? Amy is just such an amazing speaker, so motivational.

Amy said something that made my husband and I stop and think about our four kids. While we want to do everything we can to assist them and help them become successful adults, we realized that maybe we have "babied" them all a little too much. Maybe it's time we let them learn more life's lessons than we have in the past. To let them fall and pick themselves up. They will learn more from their mistakes (as long as those mistakes aren't too bad!) that way. Ours are now all 19 and over and it seems like mom and dad come to their rescue on even the smallest things sometimes. My parents did a lot for me but I look back and realize I did so much more for myself, working full time and being out of high school at the age of 17 and driving in St. Louis traffic. Now I panic at the thought of my kids driving on the highway! At the same time I'm a tough mom and try to teach them to take ownership for their problems and their achievements. Guess I'm sending a mixed signal! It's a good reminder to hear someone like Amy talk, puts everything in perspective for us as parents.
