The next season has the Roloff family living in an RV during a long road trip. Life in an RV will be interesting to watch, but I will miss seeing my favorite character on the show - The Farm itself.

Only one or two episodes will be about the RV, so don't worry, Matt never leaves the farm for long

I asked about the RV trip on Ask Matt and someone stated they where not gone no more then ten days. So we don't get to see the RV very much.
I don't know if I should be happy or sad. I guess as long as I see the family, that is all that matters.

I think 10 days is enough....you get on each others nerves easily in cramped quarters.
Although that RV looked like a hotel room on wheels to me.

When I saw the whole RV thing, I couldn't help thinking about Robin Williams taking out the mailbox and stop sign. LOL My hubby's comment was, "Oh Lord, I'd have to go into a nut house if I were in a RV with the Roloff boys playing soccer in there." LOL

Good memory Poo! I do remember him saying that now that you said that!
It looked like they went to the Grand Canyon. I bet they traveled around the western part of the U.S. I have been in that direction. As far as CO. It is SO pretty in CO. :D wild wild west

Oh my goodness, we would travel in a car and tent trailer for that long, a car is more cramped but we always had lots of fun.

We did a trip like that also the summer before my senior year of high school. Me, my mom and Dad took a 3 mth trip and traveled from Ohio to grand canyon, down to Mexico then up the coast of Calif, through washington and Oregon, back down to Utah then up to the Black Hills , came home for a bout 3 days left for Toronto for a few days then back home to go to New York for Band camp! All done in a car and tents, stayed in a hotel maybe 4 time through out that whole summer..... It was great!

Those are the things I remember most of being at home. My parents even insisted with my boss in the summer that family vacation time was time for the family to be together and she always gave me off one week of the summer for that, I only worked summers, too,

Yeah, it can be intimidating at time to drive those things in rush hour.
Just heard that someone vacationing on the Olympic Pennisula was coming down from Hurricane Ridge Sunday, or Monday, lost control, no brakes, and crashed down a hill side. The driver a dad from Missouri, just died. That is so sad.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny how at the end of the season finale episode when they were looking at the different RVs, Matt was telling Molly "we don't want to look at this one" and Molly was all like "let's look inside!", and how Matt was saying it was too much, but then the salesman started telling him all the perks, and low and behold, they roll that behemoth into the driveway! Well, that's just like Matt... he may come in a little package, but he's got BIG personality!
Did they just rent the RV or did they buy it? That was a question that I was pondering at the end of the show.
Maybe someday I'll have enough money to rent an RV and take my family on a cool long trip across country... oh, to dream! I could never keep an RV though, cuz we just don't have enough room in the driveway.

wow imagine Matt owning an RV. I was under the impression he rented it, of course that might not be the case.

I wondered if it was rented too. After what the family went through these past months, they deserve a long vacation.

RVing is an absolute joy. My wife and I took a 9500 mile trip throughout the U.S. in 2003 from the middle of July to first of October and we loved every minute of it. If one thinks that driving one of these monsters through a big city is a challenge, try driving one through Sturgis, SD during their motorcycle rally. Those motorcycles are as thick as ants on an ant hill. And believe me, big motor homes don't phase them one bit.
But being the adventurer that he is, I am sure that Matt will make this trip an interesting one. Pretty much most of what he does is a mystery. You never know how it is going to turn out. The classic was when they built the deck onto the house and during the inspection found out that there was some clearance problems between the ground and the deck. So instead of modifying the deck, he just took dirt and increased the ground level around the deck to the point it passed inspection. What a guy. Go Roloffs.

To cutefamily -- you would be surprised how easy they drive. They turn very sharp for a big machine. The size usually just scares the crap out of people. Best not to tailgate with one though. Seeing LP Matt in the seat of that thing was a sight to behold.

I know a lady who has one parked in her back yard, it's where she goes to get away from everybody  She sits in there and reads.

Hey, looks like the size of anything BIG doesn't scare Matt which is really great to see- he is such a go getter!! 8) 8)

I just hope they got out of Oregon for the past week. This was my WORST vacation ever.
1st 3 days were at Little Fawn Campground on Elk Lake. If anybody invites you there, take your own toilet and bottled water. Seriously- one single-hole outhouse for 38 campsites, only drinking water available came out of a huge hand pump.
The rest of the week was spent in relative comfort at Nehalem Bay State Park. We had a Yurt. Good thing too, because it rained the whole week. We got maybe an hour of beach time in.
Here's hoping tomorrow's field trip to the zoo goes better.

We got rained on pretty good the last time we went camping (in tents no less), so i feel your pain!
Here's hoping to many sun filled hours tomorrow

When I was a kid we would go camping to one campground that had just what you had--one outhouse and a water spicket, the "flush toilets" were in the picnic grounds, quite a walk away, well with little kids the walk was too long, so when we arrived at the campground my grandmother would pine sol the outhouse, and then several times a day someone would shout out Potty Run and we would all climb in our families station wagon, sometimes there were sixteen or us in there, drive to the picnic grounds, climb out, run to the bathrooms, do our business and get back in the car and drive back to camp. Let me tell you we got some interesting looks for sure from the picnicers. We all laugh about it now. We camped in tent trailers made by my dad or tents rain or shine. Wow the memories.

It is something we talk about every time we get together with anyone who camped with us.
