I am new to this board but I have to say that I have a problem, especially with the forum for LPBW over on TLC's website. Their message board is not used to just talk about the show but rather to verbally bash and beat down any of the Roloff's who fall short of their seemingly perfect lives. Most of the hot threads speak about Zach's disrespect, the housing being dirty, Amy mistreating Matt, the parents not having any control over their kids. It gets to be a little too much for me, especially when you consider people are bashing this family after seeing 20 minutes of their lives, 4 to 5 months after the fact, and then edited for maximum viewer ratings.
I am pretty certain everything is not exactly as it seems with them. I'm not saying that these problems within their family do not occur but I am sure that they are exaggerated by the editors, certain things that are said are spliced together to make the situation more "juicy".
The audacity of some viewers appalls me. To think that you can rip someone apart after seeing a filtered glimpse of their life.
Maybe they do need to clean up their house a little, and maybe they do need some counseling, but who are you to decide that. Let the family decide what the family needs, they appear to have gotten along just fine without you.
So, I have a suggestion, why don't we enjoy the show for what it is and recognize that we are looking at this family through a lens that we have no choice but to look through because it is on t.v.
How about we appreciate the amazing imagination, hard work, and relentless pursuit to enjoy life that Matt embodies.
Maybe see that Amy is not the perfect housekeeper, but she does coach soccer, teach school, help Matt with DAS and try to wrangle up 4 kids (3 of which are bigger than her).
Perhaps, instead of looking at the messes they have on the floor (which we all have by the way, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual messes). We should look at the things they doing very well, that alot of families lack nowadays, like the love they have. Not many families can boast of the kind of love they have because so many families are broken up and, or dysfunctional. We should see that they do place the utmost importance to have God in their lives and in their family.
I don't know. I've rambled on for far too long. It is what it is.

It's the same way at TWOP. People need to lighten up. It's mostly in the editing.

Great post! I love what you said about Matt! Very true! I choose to appreciate this family for the great things they are. Are they perfect? Heck no, but neither am I. That one of the things I love about them. They reflect all of the strengths and weaknesses we all have as human beings and as families. They also do it truthfully and without apology.

Hi CB and GREAT POST!! Everything you said I completely agree with!! :D :D
Oh no, you guys got to talking about the Beatles. If you do that, you know I will rant about them like I always do. Oh well, here goes
I love almost every single one of their songs. I tend to like the older songs they made. My favorite albums are the white album and Abbey Road. I have so many favorite songs but the top favorites would have to be, I am the walrus, glass onion, blackbird, rocky raccoon, and bungalow bill. My favorite is John although he died 7 years before I was born. I just like his songs he sang and I like his personality..from what I heard of it. He seemed like a great guy. :D :D :D
Oh has anyone heard "let it be, naked?" Its great :D The Beatles Love is awesome too :D
Okay, I think I am done for now.

I remember the night John Lennon died. I was up late and heard it on the news. I was shocked and thought of his little boy Sean. I always saw photos of John and Sean together. He was pretty much a stay at home dad for Sean. A couple of weeks later I heard that a 13 year old classmate of mine had killed herself. She had many problems but she was a big Beatles fan and John being killed was the straw that broke the camels back. :(

I just looked up Colleen's obituary and she died December 9, 1980. The day after John Lennon.

I was country when country wasn't cool and still am.
I could not understand why any one would scream when four, it was four right?, guys came out on stage, just to sing. That is just me. I hate, well detest any way, loud music, I have to be able to talk over it without shouting to enjoy music.
mattlover87
07-24-2007, 09:30 PM
Yes four of them but only two are alive as of now  (On a side note, wasn't there at one time a 5th Beatle? Or am I wrong?)
You don't like the screaming and loud music huh? Do me a favor. Go to youtube, type in "Revolution" , click on the first video, and play it full blast.

I can just imagine. It was great when we lived in an apartment because, when my husband and I were home, the boys had to keep the music down out of respect for the neighbors, now that we have a house, well I think that is changing a little but they still don't play loud music very often.

Well luckily for me, I live on a dead end street, own lots of property, and can play it full blast cause not too many, if anyone, can actually hear it. Maybe the animals in the woods and in the river but that's about it.

Pretty much all the old stuff. You would LOVE the DVD "Standing in the Shadows of Motown."
It has a lot of history, music etc but it also zero's in on the background musicians. The Funk Brothers who were the geniuses (sp?) behind the Temptations, Four Tops, Marvin Gaye etc.
The list goes on.
ML - if you like Motown, I guarantee you will love this DVD.
PS - what are you doing up so late? LOL

yes I love motown..Mamas and Papas are considered motown right? How about the Fugees, Aretha Franklin? I pretty much like all older music, just not to keen on 80's music :x
I am always up this late. I don't usually go to bed until 5Am in the summer. I get on here, sometimes take a drive with friends, watch t.v., etc. You can call me a night owl, but you will never see me at bars.(Yes I can get into bars here. OMG - You are so funny. This is my last night at Camp. I usually stay up til midnight. Kiddies love calling me for some reason or another.
They are good kids but as soon as I get to sleep, someone calls for something so I've learned to stay awake until they are all tucked into their sleeping bags.

Did anyone see the "2020" episode with the worlds tallest lady and a LP were interviewed? I have seen the tallest lady on TLC before and I am sure you guys have too..She has a very deep voice, older. Oh and there were also two teens who were taking growth hormones because they didnt like their height. I wish Matt and Amy couldve had a talk with them before they had taken the hormones. They need to embrace their height, not be ashamed of it. :(

I agree with you mattlover, People need not to be ashamed of the height or anyhting else that is why we all love the Roloff. They help us to think about the more important things in life like family and not our problems.
