Why so many threads "locked"?

If this is the place to vent, then why are so many of the threads locked? That defeats the purpose of having a place to vent, complain, or respond...

People should SEARCH
the forum first.

Threads are closed quickly in the Ask Matt section to prohibit people from making it too difficult on DS to ask Matt when she talks to him.

Threads are closed because the topic is not appropriate for discussion, or the discussion has became to violent for the forum. They violate the rules.

DS responce was in no way rude and I dont see that any appologies are in order.She simply stated a fact and she runs this forum with alot of grace and fairness!
