PADUCAH
Matt is booked to give a motivational speech in Paducah, Ky., so he brings Civil War history buffs Zach and Molly along.
Which ML Drooled over the sighting of Matt!
Passport to the Bahamas....
The Roloffs scramble to get passports for their family vacation to the Bahamas, which begins with a sailing excursion.

Heck, I scramble to get ready to make a Dr's appointment on time. I'm still usually late! We scramble constantly! Bad planning maybe, or just how we are. We are very fly by the seat of our pants too!

a bit more about the Bahama episode from the New York Daily News:
The Roloff family in tonight's episode heads to Abaco, a tiny island in the Bahamas, as a way to get some relief from the stresses of their farm and life at home. Undoubtedly, a bit of family drama begins in this episode and continues on in future shows.

It was cool to see them be able to enjoy adventure.
They're a team, like families are meant to be.
thick & thin
deep waters & shallow treading
war & peace
ying & yang
... they're cool.

I fried a chicken.
I fried my hair on a straightener.
I fried my eyelashes with a lighter.
I fried an extension chord.
I fried my brain back in the 80's.
I fried a friends shoe trying to burn a wasp nest (don't ask)
Oreos and twinkies are on my list of odd things to fry.
I'm going for it before I die - and Jeanne doggonit, you're doing it with me! <frying, not dying>
ps: I have tried fried pickles B4. <turns GREEN-Yuck!>

I saw her, she was the chuckling one at the friendly picnic with the beard in the lawnchair swigging malt licker outa' a pitcher.
<wink>
Willie was the friendly pilot.
There's NO hospitality like bluegrass hospitality.
I know these things cuz TLC lets us be flies on the wall.

I loved both eps tonight! I noticed how well the kids got along when they were split in half. It's funny how alike Molly/Zach and Jeremy/Jacob are. :)
Good on Matt for swimming that entire way! He sure is a determined guy! I would've been too scared to do it, but I'm not a strong swimmer (my daughters are on the swim team, but I'm just a country club lollygagger :) ).
Did anyone else notice that Amy looks like she got in shape for this vacation? I'd love to know what she did. I'd like my abs to look like that! :)

I was thinking that, too! There was no conflict for the whole hour! Watching them in the Bahamas was so relaxing I felt like I had been on vacation, too.
I wonder if sometimes Kirsten thinks she may as well be dating Jacob, he's just a smaller version of Jeremy

Everyone seemed like they were having a blast! :-D
Next week looks really good too
Jeremy and his new love for sailing...
What happened to Zach???
Sounded kind of like he got bit by something....BAD!
Hopefully it wasn't something else, like his shunt acting up again :(
Jacob got sea sick...
I was sooooo teary eyed just from the preview

Just a hunch guys, but did you notice when Amy's car broke down tonight. Matt was driving her van during the DUI (allegedly) pullover as stated on the net. Anyway do you suppose he was driving Amy's van and it was having problems again when he was pulled over?
I am not going to speculate I just thought about this while seeing tonights episode.
"MATT IS INNOCENT" :-D as I have always stated!

I've tried them, and fried green beans!!!!! I didn't think either were bad at all, which is kind of odd since I'm a slight picky eater.
Ha ha.....more for me, Renee!!!!:-D:-D
I loved tonight's episodes. Laughed out loud a couple times.....I usually just giggle to myself, but some things are best to be LOUDER!!!!:-D One of the moments was about the sexual comment by Jeremy and that little "discussion" that happened afterwards with Matt/Amy. Oh, that was so funny. You can tell that they really love each other so.
Loved how Amy was ripping on men for not being able to multi-task. How, how true that is (in my house, anyway!!!).
I tried to pick Willy, Jeanne and ML out, but my eyes were all over the place. I thought FOR SURE I saw you guys at one point, but now not so much sure.
I couldn't tell who was getting sea sick or just what.....I thought Zach was when he said something like, "Oh, gosh, Mom, we're in big trouble." with his head on the boat, but I also wasn't paying CLOSE attention.
Great episodes. Looking forward to next week as always!!!!:-D:-D

I had seen Mattlover on last night show. I am like I know her, well only on the Roloffs site. I had seen her three times or I thought it was her. I had not notice the others because I didn't know what they look like. Mattlover has had a picture up of herself for a while now that it was easy to pick out.
Both shows was great!
I thought it was cute seeing Jeremy was rollong around in the water and sand.

haha.... help yornself.
I tried to pick Willy, Jeanne and ML out, but my eyes were all over the place. I thought FOR SURE I saw you guys at one point, but now not so much sure.
Was ML wearing a black sweater? I got a .25 second Far-Away glimpse of a girl with blonde hair .... and she was nervously fluffing it (her hair). It made me laugh wondering if that was her... but it was soooo far away.
The crowd view was quick spanning - too bad.
The kids SHORE luved that BBQ though. AND the plane ride. That was SOOO cool that Matt got to "Float" -and- they discovered some of Kentucky's Great History.
Matt really didn't have to use his "salesmanship" to cop a ride on the twin-engine though .... that was pure Suthern' Hospitality which is daily kindness.
((hugs Jeanne & Willie))
It tickled me most that they got to enjoy the outdoors that Kentucky offers. The pilot should have landed them in a holler so they could enjoy the Mountains! yum, Natural nature at its pertiest.

Amy and Matt were soooooo cute when Jeremy said that! She was blushing and grinning ear to ear, but denying ;)
We used to tease my folks, too, just like that! That's how my Dad would react and that's exactly how my Mom used to react. :sigh: Great show

Sawyer, I loved that scene too because that just proves how conservatively shy and private Amy is.
... instead of "cold-hearted" and "cruel" toward showing Matt affection, (like she has been accused of elsewhere)... the woman just has Class !!

I'm surprised at this new season that they are somewhat away from the Attitude, that I have noticed ever since this show started and I sure like this new way....
Mommato4
11-27-2007, 07:11 AM
I have never ever thought Amy to be cold or uncaring, or even unaffectionate. She seems to be all those things. IMO, she's just a very confident, strong person and doesn't have to over do things to show who she is..she just is. If anything, I find her a person to envy in that department.
KimRenee2
11-27-2007, 07:24 AM
Agreed, Momma.
We've had to go boot-to-dirt defending her before, that's all.
It's a warm season. They're doing MUCH better with the editing.
We've always seen Amy as a Great Inspiration. You won't find any dissers here. :-D

I thought the comment by Jeremy was harmless. Kids will say stuff like that! Of course it makes a difference how it's said..
As for Amy I have gotten a little annoyed with her for berating Matt in the past, especially in front of the kids. It seems to me, at least so far this season she is a bit kinder. She even seems more affectionate to Matt.

These episodes were great, I just wish they would have shown more of the speech in Paducah. I know ML said there were no cameras on when she met Matt, but I would have loved to have seen that. LOL I saw you in the crowd, ML. Spotted the blonde hair right away! I have noticed that the show seems to portray the family as a "normal" family who is not on television. They have a lot of fans, and I am sure they get a lot of special perks with that fame. I am sure the plane ride they got back to Nashville was not just because of somebodys kindness. I would guess the fact that they are on television was more of the reason. It is just interesting to me how TLC chooses to only show part of the story.

I'm working night shift this week and am gone away from home 14 hours a day. I did get up early enough today to see the Paducah segment and was impressed. We ran the Carson Center stuff frame by frame and I only saw one good clear shot of ML and myself. We are at the far left side of the screen on the front row. Our seats were front row center and were the closest people in the audience to Matt. We are probably on screen for only a second or two so you probably would have to use stop action or frame by frame to recognize us. You can probably see the backs of our heads in other screen shots. If so look under Matt's left foot for me and Matt's right foot for ML.

Of Course I remember Matt saying about the shotgun knocking zach down, which the musket did not knock him down..
I'm not sure it was a musket exactly. I'm not expert by any means, I think it looked more like a type of rifle.
But, I don't know. I don't mean to sound like an insufferable know-it-all (any body know the quote?)
So, I've heard Jeremy's comment was "disrespectful." I thought it was cute. Probably embarrassing, but still cute. Well, their reaction was cute. He just said what everybody else was thinking, and really, for a married couple, what's wrong with that? Matt told the world where the twins were conceived.
I found the Paducah episode a little boring, but the trip looked fun. I like history too so I probably would've tagged along too. I liked watching them play Wii back at the farm. I played once with my cousin and loved it! But I do feel sorry for Kirsten for the way she's portrayed on the show. I've got a feeling they're greatly exaggerating her clingy-ness and that she's not getting a fair shake there.

I liked both of the episodes. I am also interested in history and liked the Paducah episode, but wished they would have shown a bit more of the speech. I liked watching Jeremy roll around in the sand and water that was to cute. And playing the Wii it looked like they were having fun (wished I could have been there). And I have to agree with the above person, that they definitely play up Kirsten's clingy-ness for the show, or maybe she really is like that, though I doubt it.

I was laughing my a$$ off at Jer's "sexual stuff" comment, because I was thinking the same thing. Although if I were him, I probably would've kept that to myself because the other kids don't necessarily want to think about their parents having sex. True story: I went to Detroit with my dad on vacation a few years back. One day we're in the hotel room getting ready for the day. A story comes on TV about how much sex gets shown on prime time TV (something like 17 sexual acts or references per hour.) My dad looks jokingly goes "that's more than I'm getting!" Needless to say, that was WAY more than I wanted to know...
