I've just heard that Jacob suffered another head injury and was back in the hospital at some point...Repeated head injuries are a very bad thing.... I hope he makes a complete recovery.... I hope that somebody starts to take better care of this kid.....

Unfortunately, kids will be kids. I do not think that him hurting himself has anything to do with lack of adult supervision. I mean, we can only be up our kids a**es so much. We can't keep them in a protective bubble 24/7. At some point in time they will be out of view and on their own. We can tell them til we're blue in the face to be careful, don't do this, do that. But, there are just some things they have to find out on their own.

When I was young I was told not to climb a fence. I did it anyway and ended up with hundreds of stitches in my arm. I was also told not to run down the stairs. And, when I did one time I tripped and broke my finger. As unfortunate as some of these things are, they happen. Some learn from heir mistakes. Some don't.

Zebo, must you always assume that the Roloff's are at fault. Kids will be kids. I don't know why you think that you are better than everyone else, but get over yourself.

This angers me, Zebo. Your implications are completely uncalled for and out of line.

I was an "accident prone child" and it had NOTHING to do with the care and supervision my parents gave me!!

NOTHING.

Some kids just go at things full force and full of spirit until they learn Caution.

 (you NEVER see this face from me!)

I had more bumps, scrapes, nicks, breaks and sprains when I was a kid I am actually shocked I'm still around. Some kids are more accident prone than others and Jacob seems to be this slightly awkward kid who always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It has nothing to do with parental supervision as this type of stuff happens all the time, everywhere so there must be a ton of bad parents out there...

Sheesh

what's wrong with you creep-o? Surely you know Jacob did it on purpose to avoid school! Just like Matt uses his illness to stay out of jail! Silly creep-o!

Poor Jacob...hope's he's OK. But as far as Zebo's comment is concerned, I don't think it has as much to do with non-supervision as it does with the fact that he's a boy, he has lots of energy, and he's growing up on a farm. With us guys, earning a few "battle scars" is practically a right of passage. When I was his age, it seemed like having a cast on some part of your body was kind of like a fashion accessory. In all seriousness though, hopefully the poor kid learns that he's not invinceable and does learn to be a little more cautious.

So does anyone know if what Zebo said is correct? I also think that Zebo needs to chill out. Kids will be kids. If you tell them not to do something they will still do it, they need to experience life. Hopefully though Jacob does try to be a bit more carefull. I do not want to see him have something EXTREMELY tragic happen. The trebuchet accedent was tragic enough. Anyways, did Jacob get hurt again?

DS, can you check into this for everyone please and put this rumor to rest. If it's not true, I hope you and Matt will finally say enough with Zebo for good.

Kids and accidents seem to go hand and hand. It's not from lack of parent supervision from the Roloffs. Look at how that one accident happened they had on the show. He was with an adult for Christ sake. Accidents will happen. My oldest son has a nice scar on his chin from wrecking on his bike. My son is 7 now and is very big for his age. This picture was taken when he was 5. Because of his size he has issues with gravity.

http://thumb16.webshots.net/t/14/14/1/32/35/2603132350057707896NaqckM_th.jpg (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2603132350057707896NaqckM)

I can't be with him 100% of the time and there are times accidents will happen. Shortly after this picture was taken, he got on his ATV and went for a ride on his own. Talk about 2 adults scared to death. Me and my buddy searched the riding area and trails and we didn't spare the horses in the ATVs. We found him, he went back to the jumps we had been playing on earlier that day.

http://thumb16.webshots.net/t/24/24/6/47/99/2252647990057707896tNVyAD_th.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2252647990057707896tNVyAD)http://thumb16.webshots.net/t/53/453/8/97/4/2564897040057707896SAJDzZ_th.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2564897040057707896SAJDzZ)

Kids will be kids, all you can do is try to teach them to be safe. Thankfully my son knows never to ride without his full gear on and after my buddy talked with him, never to ride alone. I think the Roloffs set a pretty good example too. You can tell they have taught there kids to be safe but kids will be kids and sometimes a bump on the head or stiches on the chin teach a better lesson then words from Mom and Dad.

I believe Zebo read about this future episode/this incident on TV Guide Online or something. Riggs and Sawyer also mentioned this same thing. So, I'm sure it's true about him getting hurt.

But, we gotta remember that these shows were taped many months ago and if something truly serious happened to him we would have been reading about it in the paper. Remember, Peggy even has some nice pics of the kids from just a few weeks ago up on her site. And, Jacob looked just perfect.

When Sawyer mentioned it I went the that place that shall not be mentioned and looked at the schedule for the show. On the December 17 episode it says something like Matt tries to finish the pool in time for Molly's birthday party and Jacob returns to the hospital with another head injury. Since his accident is mentioned second and it does not take up the entire episode, I'm betting it's not a big deal. Maybe just stitches from a fall or something. But I remember last year when Matt was telling us about the trebuchet injury that Jacob may need surgery in the future to close the hole they made to relieve the swelling. Maybe it was just this little repair job. You all will see on the 17th.

Dirt, so you wanted me banned because I posted that Jake was in the hospital again, and that I hoped he would make a complete recovery..... So should you now be banned because I was right and you accused me of spreading untrue rumors.... Think before you post....

I think dirt was referring to when you said "I hope that somebody starts to take better care of this kid." Not that you mentioned the fact that he gets hurt again.

I'm sorry to hear that Jake was hurt again. I think people have to remember that he is active, athletic and energetic, and that he has a lot of room and attractions on the farm to BE active, athletic and energetic. It is just the nature of life, and boys, that scrapes and bumps will go along with action and adventures. Jacob is "all boy", as the saying goes, and although I would like to think he will never get hurt again, I know he will. All you can do when he gets cut, banged and bruised is brush him off, bandage him up, and send him back into the ring for the next round.

If anyone out there has kids, you know they get hurt from time to time. I don't think it would be normal if they didn't bang their head, fall down and scrap their knee, or even break a bone or two. My kids are very active and are always falling down and running into things. Half the time they don't look where their going. You can't tie your kids down to a chair just do they don't get hurt. Even if you do, they will find their way out and probably get hurt in the process.

Both my wife and I were cringing when he had to get the shot in his head. Yet he took it like it was no big deal. When my son was his age he would panic just getting a regular shot. Jacob is a tough kid. (thank goodness, seems like he needs to be;))

I have come to the conclusion that there are air pockets in my house that trip me up, the dust bunnies jump out from under the furniture to trip me as well. Not to mention the fact that my clumsiness was unfortuneatly passed to my daughter. Who runs through the house like she is at the indy 500. No matter how many times I say quit running. Has she fallen? Yes, gotten bruised, rug burns, bumps. I agree with you that kids are accident prone, but sometimes so are the parents. Grace is not one of my skills or attributes, and it can become embarrassing at times to be so clumsy.

Well gee, I guess he should never, go out, cross a street, drive a car when he's old enough, drive in a car with anyone else, go on a plane, go on a train, take a cruise, bungee jump, eat out, ski, snowboard, swim, go white water rafting, chop down a tree, go out during a lightning storm, go near a campfire, own any pets, ride a bike, roller blade, ice skate, go sledding, hiking, swing on a swing, ride a horse, breathe...........huh.....need I go on?

I mean really, the simplest every day things that seem safe can harm and/or kill us. Freak things happen to many people at every age. Even under the best of conditions things can go wrong. But, as I said before, we shouldn't be afraid to live because of this.

Do you really think a large weapon is going to be safe though?? I am worried about dear Jacob!

I'm sorry to heard about Jacob got injuries and mike too. That I seen it on the TV about the old trebuchet "Pumpkin shot catapult" is pretty dangerous accident. Last week ago that i seen on tv about they are build a new wood beam trebuchet. When the trebuchet is ready to shot but you better stand back before shot and wear the hard hat on it.

I am worked for a traveling carnival that I am operated the Zipper and that I got an accident in 1999 and i got head injured from running the zipper was struck my face, fell on lay on ground and faint. They take me to the helicopter and went to the hospital in Sacramento, CA. But why? I am pick up the people's coin as like the quarter or something when the Zipper is keep running from I leave fout of the operator area but I am hearing impaired and get the coins then how dangerous is struck my face. my skull is fine but lost my seven teeth and my nose bleed.

Next time that I am stand back from running the Zipper ride and I don't want to get injuries anymore. When the zipper is stopping run and go to pick up some coins.

Thanks, LJ

Well RL, it's not so much that they needed to stand back. It's not like they stood right there while the thing moved back and forth.

It was supposedly secure and should have been safe for them to stand where they were. But then suddenly, the machine was no longer secure and so it swung down and hit them. No one could have seen that coming.
