So I wonder how many of you believe Matt is a stuck up selfish nut. It's no secret we all know the selling of the dirt was Matts idea. I agree sometimes in the episodes the things he says are on the verge of being kid like. And no wonder people " think up " these over the top opinions about him and his Family. I believe Matt had a horrible child hood but guess what hes 40 something now. He isn't the best with words or ideas for taking care of issues with the kids sometimes.. or alot lol. I bet before the show they weren't broke. But I believe money was tight because of the things matt wanted and dreamed up. The Episode about the Home remodel i'm sure you remember it. It was quite intense but maybe Amy just gets all crazy b.c thats just who she is and its fair to say matt bothers her a bunch sometimes. I'm positive the Roloffs weren't trying to fill their bank vault up more from you purchasing dirt in Jars. I think it was a bad idea but I believe it was out of fun and they thought it would be neat to send some dirt from the farm around the United States.

The dirt reminds me of the pet rock gift.

Look how the pet rock inventor became rich with this simple idea. You hit the nail on the head Gap! I would rather buy a magnet for the fridge though.

God bless ingenuity... I do believe they could have been broke. Being without insurance myself now, I know what medical costs can be. I am happy that they have found a way to prevail and care for their family, plus they allow me to share it with them.

Here are my thoughts on the dirt in the jar. I personally thought it was adorable. I think Matt heard all of us asking him to sell his pumpkin seeds. We all wanted a piece of Roloff farms right? Well, I think he may have looked into it and found out selling seeds cannot be done easily without some red tape involved or maybe a pretty big fee involved. Not all states are you allowed to sell seeds to ( I think)?? Anyway, I think the next closest thing that came to mind that was low cost and a part of the Roloff's is their land. I think it was a "
cute idea"! Blame the Roloff Dirt in a Jar on me and leave Matt out of it. I think he was only thinking of the close fans and what he could do to make us all happy. |

Werent Pet rocks banned in some states, cities due to people fighting them ? I recall reading that some of the pet rocks had turned on their owners killing them between that and illegal pet rock fighting rings they were banned. |
