LPBW has been my favorite show for a long time now, but I was really sad to see the episode this evening about Rocky...their dog. As a huge dog lover it was upsetting to see the way they treat him. I was so sadened to see how they spent the whole episode yelling at him to "move", "get out of the house", "out of the way", "take a hike old pal, etc.!" Why have a dog if you only want him around for security?! Get a security system peeps! Rocky is a sweet dog...one of God's precious creatures, not an alarm system. They spare no expense on fullfilling every desire for themselves and their kids, but Rocky is treated like property in my opinion. Jeremy's was right when he said they weren't "Pet People". Give him to the neighbor's...sounds like he likes them better. Can't say I blame him. Where's the love for man's best friend? Bummin' Tracy |

I am a huge animal lover and I think Rocky has a great life. He's not a dog to be babied, he's a big old galoot of a dog, loved and loveable.

You obliviously watch a different LPBW show than I did tonight.
You talk like he needs to be rescued. You may want to go over to the TLC forums and post how deplorable the show was. You'll fit right in.

I loved your post. Rocky did seem to be happy and enjoyed running around the farm. We have a leash law so dogs are required to be in a fenced yard or walked on a leash. I laughed at your comments about cats. So true. I have four, and if any of them come up to me for a love pat I am thrilled. But when want affection, they can be so sweet....

Yes, they hate him so much. And to think that they even had a heated bed for the poor thing. That's a sure sign of abuse. Those b*stards!

Rocky's an old farm dog, not one to be pampered. He wouldn't know what to do with himself if that changed. He's not a lap dog. They said they keep around because he's lovable, not as an alarm anymore.
They did take him to the vet for his eyes once, and believe it was specifically a veterinary optometrist. I didn't even know those existed.

i admit i was upset about it, too. the kids kept pushing him away, and Amy kept booting him outside. Dogs are social animals. they would normally live in a pack, that means that by isolating the dog, you are punishing him in a severe way. all Rocky wants is more attention and to be allowed to be AROUND his people. I was very upset to see the show edited this way. It may be that they don't push him away that often, but the show was edited that way. Or it could be that he really is in need of more HUGS. I like the Roloff family, but after seeing that show, i was pretty sad.
