I was glad to see the answer to #13 (I think I had actually posted that question twice, sorry for the dupe) due to the fact Andy Duyck (who oddly enough, is a relative of mine thanks to a cousin's marriage) has decided to retire. Someday soon I'll write a letter to the editor of The Oregonian, encouraging people who like Matt's ideas on land use to write him in this May (anyway, I think that's when Andy's seat is coming up for replacement).
It would certainly make for an interesting addition/end if the TV Show continues: Matt's attempt to preserve Tom McCall's dream, especially when so many have accused him of not understanding it.

Funny, I thought it was that Matt was finally learning to become more of a 'gonie- this is EXACTLY what us rural 'gonies often had to do growing up. The distances in a state that is a rough rectangle 300 miles x 500 miles have to be experienced to be believed- more so for my relatives in Eastern Oregon, where it can be 80 miles to the next gas station, than here in the urbanized Tualatin Valley, but the principle is the same- got to make do with what you have until you can find the time to drive to what you need.
