A slice of caramel covered cheese cake? No problem, just hold it over the flames a few seconds, and it's as healthy as rice cakes!

Also, it you eat standing up, the calories and fat are pulled out of the food by gravity...

Wal-Mart sells tubes of taco-seasoned ground turkey that I buy all the time. It makes THE BEST chilli! It's also good browned up and stirred into mac&cheese. Best of all, it's cheap. And when lazy and cheap combine in the kitchen, I'm happy.

That sounds good! Think I will try that one with my kids.

I also brown some up and mix it in with instant ramen noodles. It's easy, cheap, quick, easy, tasty... and easy.

They aslo sell Italian seasoned ground turkey, which is flavored like mild sausage, and makes good meatloaf. It comes in 1 pound chubs, frozen, and sells here for $1.25. Sav-A-Lot stores used to sell it also, but don't any longer.

The texture is too fine for grilled burgers, though.

Now that tomatoes are in season, take a few cherry tomatoes and poke them into the middle of the meatloaf before your bake it. They end up like stewed tomatoes, stuffed inside the meatloaf as a surprise. Yummy!

They bake up very soft, and look like bloody peeled eyeballs, but if your kids are young, that might make it more appealing!

Another stuffed meatloaf surprise is to mix chopped spinach or collard greens with Parmesan and grated mozzarella cheeses, chopped almonds, and seasoning. Then fill the meatloaf pan half way, place the spinach/cheese as a tube down the center, then top with the rest of the meatloaf. It looks very cool when you slice it, with the circle of spinach in the center.

I made up that recipe the summer I had more cherry tomatoes than I knew what to do with. I just started sticking them into everything. That's how I discovered how good tomato slices are in grilled cheese sandwiches!
