Managed to catch her online. Even Tom got to ask a question.
They seem to still be working out some glitches with the technology but she said she plans to do more "coffee chats".

Damn! When I first saw the link yesterday, I waited around thinking the chat was actually yesterday, and of course I TOTALLY missed it today. Oh well.

Yup, I asked her two questions. One was about pie. The other was about future careers. I was surprised that she said Molly was undecided. I would have thought she'd have college, grad school, internship, and future career, all decided and planned out. I didn't expect Jacob to have any career in mind, but Amy said he should go into video game design. He's smart and creative, and obviously a gamer, but that's not the type of goal a parent usually supports. Good for Amy for supporting his interest in games and not dismissing it as a pointless hobby. Zach is still into soccer, of course, but Amy also mentioned teaching, so perhaps that is still an option he's thinking of.


Now that there is a specific date attached to it, the cancellation seems more final and imminent.

On the bright side, though, Amy plans on doing regular lunch-chats, hopefully every week.

I agree, but after 6 years they should get their life back. They certainly can afford to do that and besides Jacob and Molly are practically adults. Yeah I know crazy how 6 years flies huh? I am happy for them. I use twitter occasionally but find it not as flexible as other social systems I use. Maybe that is the point right?
